1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the CartyUp mobile application (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

CartyUp is a shopping list application that allows you to create, manage, and share shopping lists with other users. The App includes features such as:

  • Creating and organizing shopping lists.
  • Adding, editing, and checking off items.
  • Sharing lists with other users via invite links.
  • Real-time collaboration on shared lists.
  • Push notifications for shared list updates.
  • Offline access to your lists.
  • Data export and import.

3. Account Registration

To use CartyUp, you must create an account using a valid email address. We use passwordless authentication (magic link) to verify your identity. You are responsible for maintaining access to your email account and for all activities that occur under your CartyUp account.

4. User Content

You retain ownership of all content you create in the App, including list names, item names, and your profile information. By sharing a list with other users, you grant them permission to view and modify the items in that shared list.

You agree not to use the App to store, share, or distribute content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable.

5. Shared Lists

When you share a list with other users:

  • Other members can see your display name and profile photo.
  • All members can add, edit, check, and remove items from the shared list.
  • The list owner can remove members at any time.
  • Members can leave a shared list at any time.
  • If the list owner deletes the list, it is removed for all members.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the App's infrastructure.
  • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the App.
  • Impersonate another person or entity.
  • Upload malicious content or attempt to exploit the App.

7. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, graphics, logo, and code, is the property of CartyUp and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the App without prior written consent.

8. Availability and Updates

We strive to keep the App available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may update, modify, or discontinue any feature of the App at any time without prior notice.

The App supports offline access to your lists, but some features (sharing, push notifications, profile sync) require an internet connection.

9. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time through the App (Profile → Delete Account). Upon deletion, all your data will be permanently removed as described in our Privacy Policy.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CartyUp shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenue, whether direct or indirect, arising out of your use of or inability to use the App.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
